Interdisciplinary Conservation Center of Heritage, Centre interdisciplinaire de conservation-restauration (CICRP)

Length of the internship : one month

Supervisor : Carole Husson

This one month internship took place at the Interdisciplinary Conservation Center of Heritage in Marseille (South France) and gave me the opportunity to conduct a comparative study of adhesives for the conservation treatment of a large double-sided acrylic painting on cotton fabric of Claude Viallat made in 1993.
The painting was in bad condition with overall and on each face flaking, large network of cracks and paint losses. The flaked double-sided painting was a challenging conservation treatment.  I assisted my supervisor from condition reporting to material research and comparative adhesive tests with the aim of find the adequate adhesive for the conservation treatment. The treatment was performed in 2017.
